Importers should start to plan carefully ahead by now. Vietnamese Lunar New Year will be early in 2022, it will be at February 1st Lunar New Year is also known as the Vietnamese Têt festival.

Same for Chinese new year, which is on the same date. In practice this means that activities will slow down during the second half of January and will start to pick up only in the second half of February. This will not only effect shipments from Vietnam and China, many countries in South East Asia celebrate Chinese New Year.

Combined with the difficult freight situation, freight planning should be carefully done. We urge to avoid to plan shipments during the second half of January as well as during the first half of February next year.
